World Environment Day, held annually on 5 June, brings together millions of people from across the globe, engaging them in the effort to protect and restore the Earth.

I want to dedicate WED 2024 to the water body we created at Smell of Soil. The water body is semicircular in shape, has two progressive layers, and has a total depth of about 12 feet.
We are trying to make it self-sustaining by introducing local fish caught from a ditch nearby. To check the diversity during netting we found shrimp, crab, mourola and puti. We have also released 6 kg bata fish. Recently, we have also introduced some snails and mussels (geri googli).
Hope the waterbody ecosystem will evolve and create a healthy balance over time. Please feel free to provide your suggestion or comments below.
